Reading Logs are due TODAY!!!!

Today is the last day to turn in reading logs in order to be eligible for PRIZES!  I know so many kids worked so hard at reading this summer and I want to be able to REWARD them for their hard work.  We are open until 6:00 pm…bring those logs in!!!!!

Rochester Police Dept. K9 Unit Pictures!

What an amazing presentation we had yesterday for our summer reading program! Sergeant Mike Drees, Lieutenant Tom Kaase, and Officer James Bradley all shared with us their time and talents. We were so excited to see how Chase, the police dog helps to keep the officers and us safe. We are so thankful for their service. We are very honored they were willing to come to Spring Valley and spend some time with our youth during the “Paws to Read” program! Enjoy some pictures from the day.

We felt very safe with Ofc. Bradley in the house yesterday! We can’t wait for him to get his new K-9 partner!

And Chase (the dog) is on with Sergeant Drees!!

This Wednesday, July 23, we welcome Rochester Police Sergeant Mike Drees and his K-9 partner, Chase to the Spring Valley Library! Sgt. Drees and Chase have been named as one of the nation’s top dog and handler duos, and we are so very lucky to have them serve near us. Come and find out more about what Chase does to help keep us safe, and how they work as a team. Kids will have the opportunity to make a pet of their own that day, as well. This pet will be one that can “rock” their world. 🙂

Zing-hoppin’ Good Time

Dancing, singing, and shaking our tails was all just part of the fun had today at the library. The Zinghopper’s provided almost 70 kids with lots of dancing and music for moving and grooving to! Plus, we got to get tattoos AND do some pretty awesome chalk art on the sidewalk outside. It looks like a zoo walked into the library!! Check it out!

Tail Wagging Tricks!

Thanks to Carla, Vixen, and Dingo for their visit today to the library. How fun it was to see their tricks and talk about training! Silly pups are so fun to watch. And boy did we end up with some very colorful library card holders and bookmarks made out of duct tape!
