Tomorrow at 1:30 pm, Carla Ladd and Vixen will be back at the Summer Reading Program! There may even be an extra 4 legged friend, come and see 🙂 Let’s see if Vixen has learned to balance a treat on her nose yet. You don’t want to miss it. We will be making duct tape library card holders and/or bookmarks, too!
Closed Friday and Saturday for Holiday
In observance of The Fourth of July, the Spring Valley Public Library will be closed Friday, July 4th and Saturday, July 5th. Â We will open again at 10:00 am on Monday, July 7th. Â Stop in early to check out your books and DVD’s for the weekend!

Look who has visited us in the last two weeks! We have more exciting and furry visitors coming….you don’t want to miss them. There is no program next week due to the holiday, but join us back on July 9th with Carla Ladd and Vixen again to talk about grooming, training and let’s just see if Vixen has learned a new trick!
Presenter Schedule for Summer Reading Program!!
Wednesdays, 1:30 to 3:00 PM
June 18—Ladd Training—Carla Ladd and furry friend Vixen will be covering how to be safe around dogs and how to prevent getting bitten. With summer starting, you don’t want to miss this program!
June 25—Ann Goplen and R.E.A.D (Reading Education Assistance Dogs) trained, gentle giant Midnight will talk about service dogs and how they help people. Learn how reading with a dog just might help you be a better reader!
July 2—NO PROGRAM
July 9—Ladd Training—Carla Ladd and a furry friend will go over some training and grooming for pets and why it is such an important part of owning four legged critter. There will be demonstrations and lots of time for petting!
July 16—The Zinghoppers! Put your paws up for an award winning educational and entertaining musical concert to the zoo where they will experience animals up close and personal, celebrate books, sing, and dance! http://www.zinghoppers.com/
July 24—Sergeant Mike Drees his furry partner, Chase from the Rochester Police Department will be presenting about what his job is like working with a dog. He will show us some demonstrations of how his puppy partner works with him to keep him safe.
July 31—REWARDS, DRAWINGS & PRIZES!!!
Each week there will be a short story time, a chance to find the golden storybook, a guessing jar, an activity that children can work on here or take home, and of course, time to check out books. There will be reading logs that we will collect at the end of the program, so don’t forget to pick yours up and fill it out! To be eligible for prizes and drawings we must have your logs by Friday, July 26th!
