Drum-roll Please…….Summer Reading Program!

Next week we will kick off our summer reading program for 2020! While we will miss having all the kids AT the library for programs, we are excited to have fun summer activities planned for our favorite kids. Beginning Monday, June 29th at 12:00 pm we will have a story stroll set up in our front lawn for kids/families to enjoy. (Please practice social distancing while taking part in the stroll.) In addition to the story stroll, the library will have a weekly ISPY search in our window for kids to do from outside! We will also have our week 1 summer reading kit ready for pickup that day. Please call 507-346-2100 when you arrive and we will bring out your kit! The kit will have all the directions for our program, logs, and the first craft will be in there. Beginning on Mondays each week (for 4 weeks) there will be a new story stroll AND a new summer reading kit to pick up. Kits can be picked up any day of the week between 12-4 pm.

This year in addition to reading, some of the weekly activities that will count towards a prize bag will include taking part in our I-SPY, scavenger hunts, craft projects, doing the story stroll, and listening to our online story time. One kit per child, please. Kids can earn “brag tags” and those can be picked up weekly when you get your new kit by calling the library or you can wait until the end and get them all at once. We are flexible…and fun! If you plan on having your child/children participate in the program PLEASE email me at sv_dir@selco.info or send me a message on on the Library FB page so we can get an idea of how many kits to get ready. The program will run through July 31st when logs are due. Prize bags can be picked up on or after August 5th. Hope to hear from you!
